Let’s study a word that has been used approximately 7000 times in Greek Old Testament (Septuagint translation from Hebrew) and more than 700 times in the New Testament [1].
The word “Κύριος”( definition: Lord, master, pronunciation: kee-ree-os) as a singular noun and with the first letter “Κ” to be capital translates the Hebrew word YHWH in the Old Testament and it also refers to Jesus when it is used in the New Testament [1], [2].
The noun “κύριος” derives from the word “κύρος” (pronunciation: kee-ros, definition: supreme power, authority, highest dominion) [3].
