Mesopotamia, a significant historic land nowadays consisting mainly of Iraq and parts of Syria and Turkey. [1]

Mesopotamia is a word of Greek origin and is formed from the adjective “μέσος” [2](pronunciation: mésos, definition: between, in the middle of) [3] and the noun “ποταμός” [2] ( pronunciation: potamós, definition: river) [4]

This word describes the land that lies between two rivers, the river of Tigris and Euphrates. [5]
