In Matthew 28:19 Jesus says “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (NKJV). In the Greek New Testament is written “πορευθέντες μαθητεύσατε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη, βαπτίζοντες αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Πατρὸς καὶ τοῦ Υἱοῦ καὶ τοῦ ῾Αγίου Πνεύματος” [1].
The verb “βαπτίζω” ( pronunciation: bapteezo, definition: to baptize) derives from the verb βάπτω (baptō which means to submerge, to immerse) and suffix –ίζω (-izo) [2][3], which is added to show that the action of immersion is being done by someone).
